VTU Lab Exam & Project Viva Circular

VTU students attending July August 2021 practical exams have a reason to rejoice. You will not have external examiners during your lab exams and VIVA-VOCE.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent protocols, the VTU Lab Exams and VIVA- VOCE will be conducted by the internal examiners of the same college. If in case two suitable internal examiners are not available only then external examiner from different college may be appointed to conduct the exams.

VTU Lab Exam for 3rd Sem
Question papers for practical exams in Computer Aided Drawing Subjects are delivered online in the below schedules. Principals of Colleges must schedule the practical batches with the slots as below

VTU also releases the schedule of practical examination dates. VTU will conduct 1st or 2nd-semester 2018 scheme arrear lab exams and regular 1st year 2018 scheme lab exams simultaneously after the 1st year 2018 scheme theory exam. VTU will announce 1st-year theory exam dates shortly.

VTU released the schedule for uploading batch lists, allocation of examiners by principals and examination date. The University will conduct the practical examination for UG/ PG during Jan/ Feb/ Mar 2021 and UG Project Viva-voce as per the schedule below. The schedule applies to both Constituent and Affiliated Engineering Colleges.

NOTE:
1. This time, examiners from the same college will Practical/Viva Examinations for Jan/Feb/March 2021 Examinations as per COVID-19 protocols.
2. An external examiner from a different college may conduct the Practical/ Viva examinations only if a suitable internal examiner is not available.
3. The Principals must allot the examiner.
4. The examiner must download the appointment order before the scheduled date and attach his remuneration bill.
5. The Principals are responsible for ensuring the smooth conduct of exams.
Creation of Practical Batches:
1. The department/ branch must create practical batches for all the students of their departments, including 1st-year students.
2. The teaching department can conduct the practical exams in the subjects taught by them by accessing the batches.
Suppose the Mechanical department creates six batches in Chemistry with four students in the 6th batch and Electronics. The communication department creates eight batches in Chemistry subject with three students in the 8th batch. Then, the Chemistry department can shift students from one batch to the other and leave one batch empty.
All the teaching departments must aim to minimise the number of batches.
4. The teaching department must assign the dates for the practical batches after finalising the batches.
5. The Principal must approve the batches.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Heads of Departments:
The head of the department's role is to ensure that the practical batches are created through department login at: https://labexam.vtu.ac.in.
Also, the department can change the batch of the student before the appointment of the examiner.
Principals of Institutions:
• The Principal of the Constituent and Affiliated Colleges must approve the batches uploaded and allot the examiners.
• The Principal must ask the faculty with practical examination duties to download their appointment orders from https://labexam.vtu.ac.in.
Faculty Members Appointed as Examiners:
If any faculty member is appointed as Examiner, he must download the appointment order from https://labexam.vtu.ac.in. He must perform the duties with utmost care. If he cannot download the appointment order, he may ask the Principal to issue a temporary appointment order to conduct the practical exams. There is no change in the procedure to enter marks for practical exams.
