VTU approves academic equivalence of VTU BE courses. Accordingly, some of the specialized BE courses are being considered equivalent to the recognized main BE courses.VTU, in a bid to help the students gain suitable employment, has recognized the Specialized branches of Engineering as equivalent to the main branches of engineering. Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has put in place a simple application process to get the academic equivalence certificate. However, students have to send an individual request to VTU. Otherwise, The University will take no action. If you have graduated in any specialized BE courses, your BEdegree's academic equivalence will not be automatically considered.

VTU Engineering students of Specialised branches face significant challenges while finding a job. VTU affiliated Colleges offer specialized branches such as Industrial Production & Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Tool Engineering. The University provides these courses in addition to the main recognized branches such as Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering & Mechanical Engineering. Generally, Recruiters prefer candidates from the main engineering branches. It has left many VTU BE graduates jobless. Moreover, there is minimal scope for specialized branches.

How to Apply for the VTU BE Equivalence Certificate?

Below are the steps to get BE Equivalence Certificate

1. Download below form from VTU official website and fill the application for equivalence of UG Courses and send it to the Registrar, VTU, Belagavi with your complete address, email id and contact number.

2. Also, enclose attested copy of 1st to 8th sem marks cards or PDC or Degree Certificate.

3. Pay equivalence fee of Rs 2500 online and enclose the receipt along with the application.

(2)Fill the application form with the necessary details.

(3)Enclose the below documents along with the application form

a. Application addressing to the Registrar, VTU Belagavi, with the complete address for correspondence.Email and contact mobile number.

b.Attested copy of 1 to 8th-semester marks cards/PDC/Degree Certificate.

c.Self Addressed envelop

(4)Pay fees of Rs 1000 online and enclose the receipt with the application.

 

Therefore, whatever may be the reason you opted for a specialized branch of Engineering, you need not worry now. You can now apply for an Equivalence certificate and gain more job opportunities.

The matter of Academic Equivalence of specific B.E. courses has been placed before the Joint Board of Studies in a meeting held on 06-03-2017 for consideration. The Joint Board of Studies' recommendations were placed before the Executive Council in its meeting held on 22-03-2017.

The  Executive Council, considering the requests of  students, resolved to approve the

Academic Equivalence of VTU B.E. courses including teaching career as under

VTU will issue equivalence certificates in this regard at the individual request of VTU students. The interested I required students may apply to VTU as detailed below:

1. Documents to be enclosed:
   • Application addressing to The Registrar, VTU, Belagavi with the complete address for correspondence, e-mail, and contact number
   • Attested copy of 1-8th Semester marks cards/PDC/Degree certificate.
   • Self Addressed envelop.
2. The fee to be paid: Rs. 1,000/- in the form of D.O. drawn in favor of Finance Officer, VTU, Belagavi
