PFMS Scholarship is one of the schemes that Central and State Governments provide to eligible students to make education accessible to all. Education is a fundamental right of a citizen of India. Students need not bother about the skyrocketing education fees. The Central government and state governments give out lakhs of scholarships to needy and deserving students every year. Financial challenges need not deprive a worthy student of his rightful education.

What is PFMS?

PFMS is the short form for Public Financial Management System. It is an online platform where you can manage all your PFMS scholarship schemes, subsidies, and much more. But for this article, we will limit our discussion to the scholarship schemes. Eight PFMS scholarship schemes are running currently. Using the PFMS portal, you can check the eligibility and benefits of all the schemes. Then apply for the one you are eligible for. Finally, track payments that are made directly into your bank account, all from one online PFMS portal!

What are PFMS Scholarship Schemes?

As already told, PFMS offers a total of eight scholarship schemes. And these eight schemes are divided into two categories: Central Sector Schemes and Centrally Sponsored Schemes. Central Sector Schemes are schemes that the central government funds completely. At the same time, we have Centrally Sponsored Schemes. These schemes, as the name says, are 'sponsored' by the central Government. We mean that the central Government partially funds these schemes, and the state governments fund the balance amount. There are various ratios in which the distribution between state and central Government is decided like, 50:50, 60:40, 70:30, 75:25, or 90:10.

Below is the list of both the types of PFMS scholarship schemes:

Central Sector Schemes
