VTU Online Hackathon 2020-AccelATHON 2.0

Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) in association with Centralised Placement Cell (CPC), Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), are organising an Online Hackathon (AccelATHON 2.0 Online) to be held between 12th November, 2020 to 30th November, 2020. The theme of this Hackathon is “Social Innovation using Technology”.

The intent is to promote excellence in Innovation amongst the Engineering/Graduation Students looking at various Social Challenges that our country faces.

AccelATHON 1.0 had participation of ~400 students in ~80 different teams from across various colleges in Karnataka. It churned some wonderful concepts and solutions that are also detailed in the attached paper.

We invite you all and your fellow students in your and other colleges to take part in the wonderful contest.

 

Online Hackathon Key Dates:

12th Nov (Thursday) – Hackathon Announcement and start.

12th - 23rd Nov – Students work on solution.

24th Nov – 27th Nov – BCIC evaluation and shortlisting of top entries.

28th – 29th Nov – Shortlisted teams’ presentations – online.

30th Nov – Awards announcement.

Problem statements will be announced on the 12th November - the first day of AccelATHON. The Broad theme is to create solutions to Social Challenges in our Country/State using Technology.

The Hackathon will be made available to students of any branch of engineering and from any year/semester and from any other stream of graduation.

There will be a registration fee of Rs 400 per team. Each team can comprise of a total of a maximum of 4-5 participants.

 

Online Hackathon Prizes

A total cash prize of Rs. 1 lac will be given out to 6 top entries

1st prize of Rs. 30,000,

2x2nd prize of Rs. 20,000 each

3x3rd prize of Rs.10,000 each

Team Size: 2-5 Students.

 

Awards: There will be a cash prize to top 6 winners.

They say third time is a charm and we are ready for it! It is our pleasure to announce that the third season of #HackWithInfy in India is here. #HackWithInfy is our flagship India-wide hackathon to not just provide a perfect stepping stone for students to explore their passion for coding and programming, but also an opportunity to compete and earn a chance to work with Infosys.

We are thankful for all the support and collaboration that you provided for #HackWithInfy 2019. The competition witnessed 1,18,000+ registrations from students all over India. Infosys offered 3000+ pre-placement interview opportunities through #HackWithInfy last year.

 

Hackathon Eligibility

Registrations for #HackWithInfy 2020 are now open to all B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech students graduating in the year 2021.

Steps for Registration:

• Students in your college/institute/university need to first register on InfyTQ, our learning and engagement platform.

• Click on the #HackWithInfy program banner at the top of their InfyTQ homepage to access HackWithInfy registration page.

• The last date for registration through InfyTQ is Monday, February 24, 2020.

 

We expect all the students to carefully read the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Notice for #HackWithInfy 2020 before they register. Infosys will consider registration on InfyTQ by a student as an acceptance of these terms and conditions.

 

#HackWithInfy competition offers

Here is all that you need to know about this year’s edition:

• Cash prizes worth INR350,000 to the winners

• Pre-placement interview opportunities for Power Programmer and System Engineer Specialist roles at Infosys

• Opportunity for students to showcase their programming skills and earn peer recognition.

 

HackWithInfy 2020 Rounds

#HackWithInfy 2020 will be conducted in three rounds.

• Round 1 – An individual online challenge that will be held on Sunday, March 15 and Monday, March 16, 2020

• Round 2 – An individual online challenge that will be held on Sunday, March 29 and Monday, March 30, 2020

• Round 3 – Final round that will conducted in a grand finale at our sprawling Infosys Pune campus from Friday, July 3 to Monday, July 6, 2020. Infosys will sponsor travel and accommodation for the selected finalists.

Online challenges in Round 1 and 2 will be conducted on a competitive coding platform which will be announced later.

 

We need your support in providing computer labs with good Internet connectivity to conduct the online challenges for Round 1 and 2. We request you to tentatively reserve your computer labs in advance for the mentioned dates. The details will be communicated shortly.
